On Peaceniks And Chickenhawk Crooks

It's seems that, at last, Americans are finally wising up to the crookedness of the Chickenhawk Brigade. My evidence?

This Mass Protest against Dubya's War of Aggression.

From cnn.com:
The rally stretched through the day and into the night, a marathon of music, speechmaking and dissent on the National Mall.

Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey, noting that organizers had hoped to draw 100,000 people, said, "I think they probably hit that."

Maybe we're finally wising up to the inherent evil of the Iraq War. Maybe we can start demanding some accountability from the Chickenhawk Brigade. First question: Where are the WMD's? What are we fighting for? If we keep pressure of this sort on the Administration, maybe we can get some answers.

In other news, another prominent Chickenhawk is under investigation for some shady financial dealings. This time, Bill Frist is facing two investigations for ignoring blind trust rules. From msnbc.com:
Frist, R-Tenn., received regular updates of transfers of assets to his blind trusts and sales of assets. He also was able to initiate a stock sale of a hospital chain founded by his family with perfect timing. Shortly after the sale this summer, the stock price dived.

A possible presidential contender in 2008, Frist now faces dual investigations by the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York and the Securities and Exchange Commission into his stock sales.

Honestly, I can't say I'm surprised. The GOP is simply chock full of Crooks, Liars and Scoundrels of all sorts. Rove, DeLay, Abramoff, and Frist are only the tip of the iceberg. However, this Frist scandal causes me particular happiness. Why? I'll tell you why...

This scandal can't be good for Frist's 2008 Presidential Ambitions. However, although I hate to admit it, this probably won't kill his chances for election. If you don't believe me, consider the past two Presidential elections. After those, I have little faith in the American people's capacity to elect a decent President.

Speaking of which, I bring you this....George W. Bush: Still A Drunkard. That's right, our nuclear weapons are controlled by a "recovered alcoholic" who has recently taken up drinking again.
